After I seen that I did that I dropped it down to 66 as fast as I could.
Than for the tip. I think my thermometer is crap.

That's really warm. You are likely to get a lot of ester production from the yeast and maybe some fusol alcohol flavors as the fermentation is going to be very rapid, and the yeast won't have much time to clean up the byproducts.

I made a batch of ipa and I pitched the yeast at 81 to 82 degrees. Will that be ok?
