Black Shox Porter Receives a Silver

I actually prefer a sweet finish on stout. Helps to balance out the additional bitter coffee flavors, but it depends what kind of a flavor profile you are going for.

I prefer more chocolate and less coffee.

And medals are the gift that keep on giving (from a recognition standpoint!)

That's correct. I still think it finishes a bit sweet, but a lot of people I've given it to really like it. What do I know? I'm pretty stoked though. Nice to be recognized.

Just wanted to let the Muddy River Mashers know that my Black Shox Porter received a silver medal in the Robust Porter category at the 2010 Upper Mississippi Mashout that was held January 30. I only have 1 bottle left, but I'll be bringing it by the meeting tonight along with the Bitter Chocolate Porter. See you there.
