How's Oktoberfest looking?

I'll drop off some Tickets at the store for you Jeff. Do you have a drop box outside or a mail slot? I can give you a few extra just in case someone wants to stop in and grab some from you to sell.

FYI, I only have 18 tickets turned in. So if you are sitting on any that you can turn in, please do so as soon as you can.

i have only one ticket left #009 i am trying to sell 4 more, but if i can't oh well. if i am able to i will call for 3 more from you randi or anyone else that may have them. i dropped the ticket stubs and the money off at WWNH Jeff has them.

I am about ready to put my beer in a keg for Oktoberfest. I don't have anything else for kegging. When I keg it is someone available to CO2 purge it for me?

Also.... on bisman there is a 24" cutoff 55 gal barrel w/ handles. I bet 3- 5 gal kegs would fit in there plus ice. Think a person shud get this for oktoberfest to keep a few kegs cold??

no problem and if you dont want to get the co2 stuff right away i can prme them for you and hook them up to my tank..and the cleaning you use pbw and if real bad inside you put some sand in there and shake it up and then rinse well and then pbw and then sanitize

it is my amber ale, so i will keg it, i will need new seals and stuff for the keg he has not used them in years. jeff would you be willing to help me with the CO2 stuff.

i will need to get his kegs to you guys, they need cleaned, i can sanitize, i will try to get them to the meeting tomorrow. that way i can get the right seals as needed. i am just not currently equiped for the whole kegging stuff so all help is very much appreciated!

Now if you did get a keg for this from somebody dennis i do suggest to fill it with CO2 first then transfer and then cap and purge a few times then put 20#s in and shake for a few minutes with CO@ attached and then sfill to 20 -25 #'s and call it good..but make sure week before event you get it finished ...unless you had this handled? And also i think if you are doing a Lager then its alright to leave it on the cake espesially if you transfered to secondary for a few months,,or am i wrong on that?? Jeff

I think as long as you purge the oxygen you'll be okay. The beer will oxidize if the O2 is not purged.

cool place i can handle, carbing it, not so much, will it need to stay on carb? or can it be carbed then put it in a cool place? sorry to be a pest just don't want to screw up a batch!

I'd keg it for sure. If fermention is all done, you'll want to store it without leaving it sit on the yeast. I'd carb it and put it in a cool place after that.

quick question regarding the beer, is it better to leave the beer in the fermentor till oct, or can i kegit and just keep that in a cool place? or do i nee to refrigerate it as soon as i keg it? again i am donating an amber!

ohhhhhhh..... ok. oooops I missed that. I'm a knobhead sometimes! LOL!. Also it won't be in a 5 gal keg. It will be in 4 5L kegs & I will bring my mini draft system that I just purchased.

That'd be great! We can always use more beer. Now, if you choose to donate a batch of beer your spouse gets in for free (see guidelines) as long as you fill out the donate a brew form, that gets your wife on the entry list. If you already purchased a ticket for her, we can certainly do a buy back.
