Thanks for hosting, Eric, and thanks to everyone who showed up and made the event a success. I had a great time seeing everyone and tasting some excellent homebrews - plus the club has a beer to show for it. You can't beat that!

I'm looking forward to our brew day and hope to see you all there. However, I broke my hydrometer again so if anyone is interested in getting an origional gravity reading please bring a hydrometer.

Sounds great Eric! Thanks again for hosting!
If you want to do the premium thing you can or we can certainly use this for a St Patrick's Day gathering.
I'll let you know the rest of the details on the ingredients when it arrives.

I will be hosting the second meeting of the year and we will be brewing our first kit of the month. It will be an all grain irish stout. I was able to look up the grains on midwest and they are as follows.
9 lbs of domestic 2 row 8 oz chocolate malt 8 oz crystal 10 8 oz roasted barley 4 oz flaked barley
That is all midwest lists so we don't know what hops or yeast we will be getting other than we opted for the wyeast activater.
I figured I would post this up here as a topic to discuss and also go over at our first meeting and maybe if anyone has any ideas for this recipe we could put up a motion for an addition or alteration.
The forum has been pretty dead for a while so it would be nice to get some good discussion going on this beer style and also have something informative to talk about at the next meeting. I have to do some homework because I'm not too knowledgable on the dry irish stout style.
I'm not a premium member so the club will be getting this beer unless a premium member would like to come to the brew and claim it. (if they can do that? not sure what our new rule is there)
We will be starting at 2pm on saturday the 21 2010 N 16th st. Apt. 1 Bismarck
