For those of you looking for that recipe that might just use up some of those old ingredients, here is the recipe for the Harvest Ale that Mike and I made last year (11-14-09), trying to get rid of some old hops and grain.
Grain Bill:
13lbs - 2 Row
3lbs - Crystal 40L
1.75lbs - Munich
1lb - Vienna
1lb - Belgian Carapils
1lb - Belgian Caravienne
1lb - Belgian Aromatic
Hops (90 min boil)
1oz - Olympic 11%AA - 80 min
1/2 oz - Centennial 9.5% AA - 65 min
1/2 oz - Centennial 9.5% AA - 50 min
1oz - Cascade 7.2% AA - 45 min
1oz - Mt. Hood 5.4% AA - 20 min
Whirlpooled for 10 minutes
Dry Hop 1oz Cascades and 1oz Hallertau for 7 days
O.G. was 1.074 (65% efficiency)
F.G. was 1.021
Wyeast American Ale - 1056
Mashed 6 gals of water to get a mash temp of 152F and sparged 5.5 gals at 170F
