Stout it Out Loud!

FYI, this is coming up! So have your stouts ready for next Tuesday (March 6th).

The calendar has been updated. Any meeting with a special contest date will appear right after the meeting notification. This is the same calendar that is on the website here. Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks Mike! Stouts is just the first of a few contests this year. I'll be putting the club internal contest dates on the calendar, but here's the full list so everyone can plan ahead.


March 6th- Stout it Out Loud!
Entries are due March 17, 2012 and judging will be held March 24, 2012.
*This competition covers BJCP category 13.

May 1st - Scottish and Irish Ale
Entries are due Thursday, May 10, 2012 and judging will be held May 19, 2012.
*This competition covers BJCP category 9.

August 7th - Porter
Entry deadline is TBD. Judging will be held TBD.
*This competition covers BJCP category 12 styles.

September 4th - Light Hybrid Beers
Entries are due TBD and judging will be held TBD.
*This competition covers BJCP category 6 styles.

November 6th - Ant Hayes Memorial Burton (Olde) Ale
Entries are due November 10, 2012 and judging will be held November 17, 2012.
*This competition covers BJCP category 19A, the Old Ale style.

Sounds great! Guess I'll have to brew Angel's Share Stout again. We definitely need to do more of this kind of thing!

Let's get something into an AHA Club Only Competition! For those of you not familiar with AHA Club Only Competitions, these competitions are usually style specific and only AHA Registered Clubs (like us) can enter. Clubs can only send ONE entry.

At our March 6th meeting we will decide whose homebrewed stout we will be sending to the AHA's Club Only Stout it out Loud Competition. Please bring 4 bottles (see specs) of your stout to this meeting. Two are for evaluation by the Mashers and the other two are just in case you win. The winner gets a little prize their brew gets a one way ticket to Castle Rock CO.
