In Stock Grains Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Stock Grains   In Stock Grains EmptyTue Apr 06, 2010 11:14 am

Looks like a pretty solid recipe. I just used the citra for the first time this weekend. I've had them in the freezer for a while. I used them in place of my Columbus hops as a bittering hop on my Hammerhead Red. They were 11.1% AA, so very comparable to the Columbus. They smell absolutely delicious.

I would like to dry hop them as well. As far as the recipe below goes, depending on how long it takes to chill your beer, if you don't use a whirlpool, you might want to increase the time those 10 minute additions are in the kettle. Totally personal preference though.

I look forward to trying this one.

Just a quick note: I don't know how much of the Wyeast German Ale you have left. I know I bought one packet and I don't recall seeing another one.

I got myself some makings for an American Wheat for the wife and I also got 3oz. of Citra hops from Jeff. I haven't gotten to actually brew with any of it yet but, as fresh as it all is, I can't imagine any of it is going to be sub-par.

Citrus IPA here I come...recipe?

4# American 2-Row
9# Maris Otter
0.5 # Caramel 20
0.5 # Caramel 90

1.5 oz. Centennial 90mins
.5 oz. Centennial 10
1 oz. Cascade 10
1 oz Citra 10
1 oz. Cascade Dry Hop
1 oz. Citra Dry Hop

Wyeast 1056 American Ale

What's everyone think? Frohlich, you've used Citra, any thoughts?
