| Mike T sent this. Apparently he's gearing up to keep the paddle at his place. | |

| Location: Philleo's Time: 7-9:30 Attendees: Mike P, Randi, Bethany, Ivan, Bob, TJ, Adam, Jayme, Thomas, Jon, Steve, Tyler M. BeersWhat a great turn out for a meeting, we even had 3 new faces... hopefully, they'll come back. The meeting brought a whole lot of homebrews to the table for tasting. We had an Apricot Pale, Cherry Wheat, Double IPA, Rasberry, Chocolate Covered Nuts, Mint Milk Stout, Holiday Ale, Belgian IPA, Scotch Ale, Batlic Porter, and Bob brought his first ever brew, a Wheat Ale. BusinessBeer of the Month Brew and MembershipIt was discussed and determined that we'd like to keep the brew of the month, and eliminate premium membership. What we are really lacking in is hosts for meetings. So, the new deal with receiving a brew kit for yourself to brew (or a gift card for ingredients) is that you must host both the brew AND the meeting that month. They cannot be on the same day. We will have a sign up form in the next few weeks. Brew for FebruaryIvan kindly offered to host the February brew day. It will be held on February 23rd, which is a Saturday. We will be brewing a Rye-Maibock for us to share at our Big Brew Day event in May. Please come and partake in the brew. More details will be up shortly. Sour PackMike P presented the idea of using club extras to make a "Sour Pack". This would be a bin full of equipment to use with sour beers. This bin would contain, buckets, siphons, hoses, airlocks, etc, all of which will be properly marked as "soured". The bin can be checked out by any member to use. There was no disagreement with this idea. Randi will put together the pack to be available in the next few weeks. PaddleThe first vote for paddle winner tied with Adam's smokey Baltic porter and Mike T's double IPA. After a vote-off, Mike T took home the paddle by one vote. Congrats Mike T! Make sure to take a picture with the paddle. This traveling trophy will be awarded monthly for the winner to take home and proudly display. At the end of each meeting we will look for nominations on outstanding homebrew of the night. This beer can be a new brew or a reworked recipe. Once a beer has taken home the paddle, it will no longer be eligible to win. When nominating a brew, look at flavor, style, and originality. A majority vote will declare the winner. If you win the paddle, make sure that you can have it back to an officer at the next meeting.
If I forgot anyone or any beers, feel free to post it. Sometimes as the beer flows, the notes get sloppier and I get more forgetful. Cheers! | |
